My oldest son left a car that was totaled in my driveway when i kicked him out in dec of 09. i told him please take it with u and he didnt. so i had a junkyard just take and now he went to the police and said i sold it there was nothing on the car that worked and he still left here 3 months

If the police have charged you with any crime or ordinance violation, get an attorney inyrou area very soon. If they police has asked to talk to you about it, talk with an attorney first. It is likely that they police will tell your Son that they view this a civil matter, and leave it to him to pursue there. He may make a claim to his insurance company for the loss of the vehicle. If they pay him, they may come after you to get reimbursed. If that is the case, you may want to talk to an attorney before giving any statements to anyone from his insurance company.
Without more facts it is nearly impossible to determine if you owe your Son anything for having his car hauled away.
