Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

Petition for Early Dismissal from Felony Probation

I am trying to get petition for early release from my felony probation, and as a student, can not afford to do so with a lawyer. I was sentenced to 5 years, but in over a year I have not had a single violation, have completed all community service and other specifics within months of my conviction, etc. I do not know who to contact because I was sentenced in one county and am serving probation in another and they are sending me in circles. I just want to call up the judge, but I don't even know how to begin or what to do. My reason for early dismissal is that I am a full-time college student and will be graduating within a year and I would like to study abroad, move out of state for a job, etc. and further my life, but probation is holding me back. Can you please help me?

Re: Petition for Early Dismissal from Felony Probation

I can tell you that completing one year out of five is usually not good enough to get an early termination of probation in most counties I am familiar with, unless your probation officer goes tobat for you and maybe not even then. If you can not afford an attorney, you might just talk with your probation officer about it. These are not easy to achieve in most cases, and I would definitely suggest that you hire an attorney if at all possible. Good luck!
