Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

the police department came to my house, they searched and found one individual piece of herion they also found a set of scales that belonged to a live in girlfriend, if she were to notify the prosecuter of her ownership of above mentioned scales. could i be charged with sales or intent to sale? or just simple possession of a controlled substance?

You are going to be charged with whatever the prosecutor thinks he can prove. I would not advise the girlfriend to volunteer any statements to the police. You may be able to go through a drug court program, or defend the charge(s) against you, or negotiate a favorable plea bargain. You definitely should consult with and hire an attorney.
