had something post into my fiancee's facebook about me that was very gross. It was very racist and wished me a slow death. Is there any legal recourse?

Defamation law applies to internet postings. If someone posts a false statement as fact, it may be actionable. However, opinions are protected free speech. I suggest you first contact facebook administrators. They can identify the poster and can curtail their posting privileges.
