Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

public urination citation

my friend got a citation at St Louis Mardi Gras for urinating in public. I was wondering what will happen with regard to his permanent record, the punishment, etc. Thanks!

Re: public urination citation

This is not the sort of thing that I would want on mypermanent criminal record for anyone to see forever. Most years there are several hundred people with similar charges after Mardi Gras. Many hire an attorney to be sure to avoid the conviction. I have handled many of these. However, the City also sometimes creates a special Mardi Gras docket where the people charged with these offenses are permitted an opportunity to avoid the conviction by doing community service. to be absolutely safe, I would advise your friend to hire an attorney.
