Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
Reporting Previous convictions
My daughter's ex-boyfriend was arrested in 2003 for selling marijuana, she was in the house and arrested also. Posession of paraphenalia was her charge, her probation was in Kansas, she completed her 6 month probation and paid her fines. She has lived in Missouri for a year, and would like to apply for jobs in the local banks. Does her conviction pose a problem on background checks? She currently works for Walmart in Missouri, and worked for Walmart in Kansas since her conviction.

Re: Reporting Previous convictions
your daughter's previous conviction might cause her problems being hired by a bank, if there was one. If she does on a diversion plan it might not prevent her from getting hired. It kind od depends upon what type of position she is seeking. If she lies on an application when asked about any past arrests or convictions, she can be not hired or fired wihtout nay further explanation.
