Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

I am selling a wedding dress online. The guy buying it wants to send a check for over the amount and when it clears the bank he wants me to send the dress and western union the extra to his fiance. Can I get into trouble for this?

There are some scams out there involving foreign banks and a substantial delay in finding out the check is rubber. If he's insisting on a check, you have to wonder why. Wouldn't you feel more comfortable with a money order?
