Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I served a 5-year prison sentence in Texas for felony DWI, and was released 9/1/1999. I have been totally sober & have had a clean record since then. I don't drink or use...and am a successful businessman in Springfield, MO. I've been here in Missouri since 2004. Is there any way that I can get a handgun permit for personal protection? If so...how do I go about it?

You may need to see if you can have the conviction in Texas expunged. If you get that done, the may be no bat to getting a gun in Missouri. You need to consult directly with aan attorney admitted to practice in Texas. They can advise you about your expungement options.
