The only reason the police want to talk to you is to obtain a statement from you which they will then use to obtain a conviction. Do not under any circumstances make any statement to the police, no matter what they tell you. They can arrest you and you can be charged with a crime if they believe that there is enough evidence, but talking with them will only result in them having more evidence to use against you. Hire an attorney.
