Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
This is going to sound utterly ridiculous, but this is 100% honest truth.
I had my identity stolen back in 2001. This person used my name when he got arrested. Somehow he was charged a felony with my name. I had no warrants at that time. I don't know how he was able to go to prison under my name, but he did it. He did a prison stint under my name for a lengthy period of time that started 11/24/2003.
I have been working at my present job for 7 plus years, starting 9/22/2003. This problem is totally ridculous and I can't imagine how much it will cost me to get this crap of of my record. Can you help?

Incredibly I have heard of this happening before. As you know, the other person was finger printed and had a sample of his DNA collected. If this guy only used your name, you may not have to do anything. If he used your name, SS# and date of birth, you should get this cleared up. The extent that you want to go to will depend upon the problems it causes and the amount of money and hassle you want to go through. If you repost your fact pattern with an explantion of the problem it is causing you currently, perhaps someone can give you an approximate cost and time prediction.
Good luck
