Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri
I don't want to testify against my husband.
I have been called to testify against my husband in a domestic violence situation. This is the first time he has been arrested for assault against me.. What do i need to say in court to let the judge know that i will not testify against my husband.
something like '' It is my constitutional right not to speak on matters that may incriminate my husband?'' I am desperate as I don't want to say anything stupid sounding in court.
Thanks for your help.

First, you need to get an attorney for you. Second, you may try to use the spousal priveledge as a way to not testify. Howeever, there are many pitfalls to same.
