The answer to your question is "It depends." It depends upon several facts that you do not include in your question. First, what are you charged with? Second, in what court are the charges pending? Third, are you able to hire an attonrey and come up with some arrangements for bond if necessary? In many cases I have been able to get a warrant cancelled without the client having to go to court, in fact I did one of these yesterday. In other cases, we can arrange for the client to do what we call a "voluntary surrender". In this case, we set everything up ahead of time. The attorney enters his appearance and files a bond reduction Motion if needed. Some prosecutors will meet with the attorney in the Judges chambers where the Judge might reduce the bond required or even approve recognizance. Then, the client turns himself or herself in at the county jail and is bonded out after booking, usually within a couple of hours if done correctly.
