Re: A writ of a copy of attachment

The item that your question refers to is probably a "body attachment", also often referred to by the latin name "capias". The name is really fairly self-explanatory. It is a Court Order, sometimes referred to as a "Writ", signed by a Judge directing the sheriff or other law enforcement authorities to seize your body and bring it to court. In other words, it operates much like a warrant for your arrest. These are usually issued in cases in which a person did not show up in court when required to do so. The body attachment may be cancelled by the Judge upon the application of an attorney and upon sufficient assurance that the person will show up in Court the next time he or she is required to do so.
