Legal Question in Criminal Law in Missouri

Wrongly accused in Missouri

My brother-in-law will be tried for Capital Murder in April 2007. This was a case of self-defense, and the victim tried to kill 2 other family members within one month prior to his death. He was arrested and charged with the attmepted murder of my husband. My husband, being the Christian he is, didn't want him to go to prison so he dropped charges. (I thought the State should pick them up again, but....) The victim attacked the defendant 2 weeks later, in which the victim died. Now, the prosecuting attorney has gone to the Attorney General's office and is seeking the death penalty. He is aware the victim had attacked my husband but says the reason my husband dropped charges is because the two brothers wanted to kill him. My brother-in-law has been assigned a Public Defender. I am scared to death that this Public Defender is not able to provide him the legal counsel he needs. We don't have $100,000 to $200,000 readily available but we do make good money and could make payments over a year 'til paid in full. Any suggestions for a great Missouri attorney who believes in justice?
