Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Missouri
Pregnancy Discrimination
In April of 2004, I was contacted by one of my bosses to ask me if I would be interested in the area manager position and that they were going to be letting the other person go. We communicated over the next several weeks, then she came in town to discuss it with me. She discovered I was pregnant and a few weeks later called me to tell me that they were giving the position to a man who did not have the family obligations I had and that with me having a baby on the way, she felt I had enough on my plate. There is more- but what I am wondering is if this is legal and I have a case? What is the statue of limitations?

Re: Pregnancy Discrimination
What you describe is illegal.
The statute of limitations may be as short as 6 months for some claims, so if you are interested in pursuing the matter you should consult counsel immediately.
