Legal Question in Elder Law in Missouri

possible abuse of senior father

Father lives in Missouri. Daughter has been living with him. Daughter has own physical issues and has been known to be drinking. Home is most likely in deplorable condition. Daughter has control of father's funds and suspect mis-use there. Father has signs of possible ahlzheimer disease, can not walk nor control functions. Daughter will not put him in any assisted care for number of reasons. Suspect daughter is more concerned about where she will go and how she will live with no means of support. Feel house should be sold and funds used to put father up in assisted care living here in Arizona but daughter refuses to sell house. We are unable to afford even a trip up there to check things out and are currently barely surviving on one income. Needless to say, we don't know where to start.

Re: possible abuse of senior father

IMMEDIATELY, call the local police department where father lives and make a complaint of elder abuse and financial exploitation. At the same time, call the state or county agency (or both) which is responsible for "Adult protective services" as they too can initiate action to protect him and seek appointment of a guardian and conservator.
