Legal Question in Elder Law in Missouri

My mother has severe dementia, but of course does not believe this. We have no funds with which to obtain and attorney so would like information about setting up a conservatorship. She is 91, frail and still living at home ALONE. How do we go about doing this in the state of Missouri? Thank you.

You might try to talk with her doctor. He will obviously be hesitant to discuss her medicla fiel with you. But, if you indicate that you are looking into seeking aconservtor for her, he mihgt give you some guidance, as to his opionion on the matter. Then you can go to the County Couselor's or Public Administrator's office in the county where your mother lives. They can give you some more guidance as to how you might start the process. They may even take over and brin ghte action themself, in some cases

Good luck
