There are criteria that changes the determination, but genetally intestate estates go to the surving spouse and biological children, grandchilfren, parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts/uncles, cousins, in roughly that order. If you are related to someone thst passed intestate (withiut a will), you should consult directly with a probare attorney in the area where the decdent lived.

Good luck
