Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
I have a 18 month old son, his father and I were never married. he convinced everyone the he is disabled (but the state paid for him to go to school to be a mechanic, which is what he does now) he is on SSI. we have already been to court once over child support, since he didn't have a job at the time they told me he didn't have to pay any amount (due to being on SSI) but they told him as soon as he got his first check stub to turn it in so they could fix the amount. he has never turned it in, he told me he wasn't going to turn it in. he told me I'd have to get a lawyer and fight him on it.is that true? if so please explain to me why he can choose not to pay child support when we have been to court and they told him he would have to turn it in. (We did the court ordered paternity test, which it is his son. no disputes there)

Take him back to Court.
No, you must have social security assign father's benefit to you. Also you must go back to court and have him held in comtempt and put in jail.
