Why does it take more than 5 months to get a divorce in Missouri?

Missouri takes marriage more seriously than some other states. This is even more so, if there are children. Allowing the process unfold rationally prevents post decree amendments due to later discovered pregnancy. The residency requirement takes up some of the time too.
