Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I am right now 7 weeks pregnant. The father of the baby continues to call it a mistake and says he doesnt want involved. I tried emailing him and updating him on baby and I...and he replies with "I dont know" or "I can't do anything now..so why does it matter?" I was planning on moving to go to college elsewhere before I knew I was pregnant. He doesnt want involved in the pregnancy, he doesn't care to see ultrasounds or know that my baby is growing fine. If I move can he suddenly change his mind and sue me for custody? If he does will I have to move? My major is only offered at colleges at least 3 hours from where he lives, I cannot finish college if I am told I must move back here.

I am unaware of a single case in which a pregnant wman is forced to move to a place closer to teh father. Neither is there likley to be a case where a mother is forced to move postpartum for the convenience of the father. The trouble is when you move after there is acustody and visitation order in effect. For now, the locale of the father does not hinder your choice of where to go to college.

Good luck
