Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I have an 18 year old child from a previous marriage who's now in college. She's rarely able to come home, and has indicated she no longer wishes to have a relationship with her mother, to whom I am paying child support per court order. My daughter has indicated that her mother has not once provided her any spending money outside of tuition payments (divided in 1/2, again, per court order). I provide spending money for my daughter on a bi-weekly basis. My question is, can I stop paying support to her mother and have it directed to my daughter instead? She also wants to be able to call my home her home 100% of the time when she's not away at school.

You may be able to obtain a Modification of the existing Court Order either to pay the child directly or to have the physical custody of the child transferred to you. I would strongly suggest that you consult with an attorney who practices family law in the jurisdiction in which the existing Court Order was entered.

Good luck.
