Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

my 13 yr old step son doesn't wan tto visit his mom

My 13 yr old step son does not want to go everyother weekend to his mothers house, who lives 45 min from here. She does not bring him to his practices for sports and he says she does not do anything with him, only his sister and step sister. He has cried and cried about this. Does he have the right at any age to say he doesn't want to go? She likes to make him feel guilty for not coming and for playing sports, infact he did not play football this year cause he said she made him feel bad about having to come to his games 2-3 times a week and having to bring him to practices. He does love his mom and wants to see her just not when he has things going on on her weekends. Please advise what my husband and I should do. We have custody and she has every other weekend visits. Thank you in advance.

A child does not have any legal right to refuse to go to the non-custodial parent's for visitation. If the situation is really bad enough you could file a Motion to Modify the existing Court Order and try to have the current terms of visitation changed. Of course this would require substantial effort and expense. Good luck.
