add another last name to child

my daughter cannot be adopted by her step-father for personal reasons, she goes by his last name but its not legal. Can i get his last name added to hers?

There is a legal procedure that we can use in Missouri to change someone's name legally. Generally speaking, we file a Petition for a Name Change in the Circuit Court and, if we comply with the applicable law, the Court usually grants the Petition.
