Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

adoption

my girlfriend is in a foster home and she will be ther until she turns 18 she is now 15 my family want her out and the only way out is adopton my mom wants to adopt her to get her out and because we are the only family that she has left. Is this possible? We really care bout her and just want her to be happy. What will my mom need to do if the answer is yes? i live in Perryville,Mo. My girlfriend is currently in Cape Girardo, MO

You say that you are the only family she has. Are you related to her by bloo dor marriage? If not, your parents will not likely be considered as an adoption option if her goal remains to be reunited with her parents. Is she being mistreated in her foster home? If so, you or she may be able to report that to her case worker. If she is merely unhappy, or just feeling normal teenage angst, it will not improve by moving into your parent's home.

You parents can Petition for custody of her, by honestly alleging that they believe it to be in her best interest. The Commissioner or Judge handling her file now by rule on your paret's petition, or it may be transferred to the probate court.
