There are only a few very specific reasons that you may be granted an annulment in Missouri. the theory behind an annulment is that the marriage was never valid to begin with. This can happen when one party was compelled to mary another under threat of serious violence, or if one party was already legally married to someone else at the time of the ceremony. There are a few other grounds, but generally speaking it is NOT true that just because you have been married a short time that an annulment is appropriate. You would still be looking at obtaining a dissolution of the marriage, i.e. divorce.
