Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

How do I get what I was awarded in a divorce

My divorce was final in Dec.2006, and I was awarded household items and money to equal the value of what he got to keep, He had 30 days to comply, None of what was to be has happened. I don't have anymore money to spend on something that gets stalled at every turn.

Unfortunately, our legal system does not offer any quick, effective, and free way of forcing someone to do what he is Ordered to do in a Family Court Judgment. An attorney would file a Motion for Contempt and get the Judge to sign a Show Cause Order requiring your ex to appear before the Judge and explain why he should not be held in contempt. The Judge might get your ex's attention and actually get the things you are complaining about done, or the Judge might have to incarcerate your ex with the condition that your ex can gain his freedom by complying with the Court Order. You may be able to obtain a Court Order requiring your ex to reimburse you for your attorney's fees and costs in going back to court. You should hire an attorney to help you with this.
