Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
I bought a house with my ex because we plan to marry. We also have a 5 year old child in common, while I kept the house and have been paying the mortgage for the last 7 months by myself, how do i cut ties with him and get the house key back. Also I get no child support from him and he makes me feel guilty for wanting him to "help out." Recently he has been extremely difficult and I would rather get some type of arrangement with visitation and support through the courts, but what is my first step?

You can file aPetioj for Custody and Support with the Circuit of the County where you and the child live. The court will decide who the child will live wiht, when the pother parent gets visits, and how much support is to be paid.
As to the house, there may be equity there to split, or jsut debt. As it is the morgage holder could come after each or both of you for any unpaid monies. The one that pays more than their share can sue the other to get reimbursed. Yu may be able to get him to sign over his rights to you, inexchange for you agreeing to hoodl him harmless for any amoutn she is later made to pay.
There are many attornies in yrou area that handle custody and property division matters. Perhaps you could start with your local phone book, under "famly law attorneys". Many offer a free or low cost initial consultation.
