Name change

Can you tell me how to change my son can change his daughters last name on her birth certificate to be his last name, he is the legal father and his name was put on the birthcerticate after the paternity test came back positive and he does pay child support since she was born in feb 2002

I believe that he can petition the court for a name change which should be granted especially if no one objects and the child's mother consents to the change. There will be court costs, publication costs, a charge for the Dept. of Vital Statistics, and a reasonable attorney's fee if he uses an attorney. Good luck.
