Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Change of venue

Got divorced in Texas in 1999. Paid child support for 2 kids. I stated that I would pay for college until the kids were 25. Texas said I could stop paying child support at 18 which I chose to do after no contact with daughter for at least a year. Now my ex-wife is filing for change of venue to Missouri and continued support until 21. Can the divorce be changed after all this time? I hate rewarding this bad behavior with three more years of support.

I told them if communication opened up I would help pay for school but that hasn't happened. Now I feel like after all this money paid, I'm still made to look like a deadbeat and to top it off have to get a lawyer to NOT help my kid. Serious mixed emotions. What would a court likely say?

Re: Change of venue

Not a WA question. But I can tell you changing the case from TX to MO is not a change of venue, it is a change of jurisdiction, and you should get an attorney in MO to resist it. I don't know where this case is in MO, but if it is in or near Jackson County, I have worked with several attorney's in the KC area who do family law, and would be happy to make a referral.
