Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Changing the settlement

I would like to go back and change the settlement. If my ex and I agree to a change what is the least expensive way to make this binding and legal? Can mediation work in post divorce settlement changes?

Re: Changing the settlement

If you have a Judgment granting you a divorce and odering child custody, child support and other items, then you may be able to file a Motion to Modify. You will need to show either a substantial change in circumstances since the Judgment was entered, or if you are only seeking to Modify the custody or visitation provisions of the Judgment, then you will need to show that a change is in the best interest of the child or children. I require a retainer fee to be paid up front and bill against it at an hourly rate. The client will also need to pay the filing fee and any costs incurred. You may call me for a free telphone consultaion if you wish.
