Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Child abuse and abandonment

I have a 6 year old girl who has not seen her father for 2 years. His oldest daughter physically abused her and he refused to believe it. My little girl was 3 and his daughter was 14 when it happened. I reported the abuse and appropriate action was taken against his daughter. The father did not have any court ordered visitation, so I told him I would allow him to see my daughter under supervision of a responsable adult. He saw her on her 4th birthday, and has not seen her since. He is also living with a lady who has lost her custody of her children due to neglect and abuse. Now he is hiring a lawyer for visitations. I only want supervised visitations if he persues. He does pay his child sapport, but I had to have his wages garnished. He has been invited to see his daughter on several ocassions, but never shows up. Can I get supervised visitations if he takes this matter to court, and can I get him for abandonment?

Re: Child abuse and abandonment

If the 14 year old who committed the abuse is still in the picture, then the Court is more likely to require some restrictions on the father's visitation. I do not understand your question "Can I get him for abandonment?" You definitley should hire an attorney to represent you.
