Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Child Custody

Hello, Iam asking in behalf of my wife, We just went through a year custody battle with her ex-husband, after a year going through courts the judge finally ordered [Lawyers] that if you can't get it resolved by April 1, 2000 that the case will be thrown out of court, my wife has retained custody of her son, he is 13, She just got a Court order saying her ex-husband has refiled for custody, we cannot afford another attorney, what can we do to file our own papers to keep custody, the case will be tried in Missouri, the x-husband told me you thought last time cost alot of money, just wait until I get done this time. Her son has his own court appointed lawyer, and he reccomended that the son stay with his mother, what can we do. thank you

Re: Child Custody

Hello. It would be best

to have your own lawyer,

however if you cannot

get pro bono representation,

you can work through your

son's court appointed attorney

because custody hearings are

geared toward what is in the

best interest of child. In

other words stay in touch with

the child's attorney, talk

to him or her regularly and

let their representation of

the child benefit you since

they are already recommending

that your wife retain custody.

I hope my suggestions help.
