Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

child custody

I presently have primary physical custody of my son, who is 16 and my ex is suing me for custody and child support. I make $24,000 a year and him and his wife make over $100,000. I live in Missouri. Will I be required to pay child support if he is granted custody? Also our previous agreement had us paying the left over medical bills on the basis of our income prorated. He is trying to get 50/50. Will he be able to get that?

Re: child custody

Each parent has a duty to support the child. So, if your ex is awarded custody it stands to reason that you would be ordered to pay child support. Without knowing a lot more information it is difficult to know whether a Court would modify the term concerning payment of medical bills. If you do not already have an attorney, you obviously need to hire one as soon as possible. Good luck!
