Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My child was 19 when my husband and I divorced and he was ordered to pay child support due to the fact that our child was handicapped. When he turned 21 the state quit deducting the child support and I had to file a motion to modify the divorce decree. We are waiting on an answer from the judge because he want's to know if there is a law that prevents the modification after the age of 21. Can you answer that for me Is there a law preventing someone to modify their child support portion of their divorce decree after the child has already turned 21.
