Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Child support
My daughter will turn 22 this month and the state of missouri requires I pay child support on her until she graduates from college of turns 22 (Chpter 452 Sect. 452.340). Will I need to go thru a lawyer to modify the court order child support, can I type up a modification order or will the DCSE automatically notify me?

Re: Child support
In many counties the circuit court clerk actually provides a form for people in your situation to file seeking a Court Order officially terminating your obligation to pay child support. If this was a DCSE case, then the administative Order for child support was filed with the Court in the county where you reside. Check with the Clerk for the form. Once you fill it out, the clerk sends it to the other parent who has an opportunity to admit or deny the fact that the child is emancipated. You can hire an attorney to help with this, but you might also be able to handle it yourself. Good luck.
