Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Child Support Issues
my husband hired an attorney in november because we just found out that he has a 9 year old son, we came to agreement with the mother on visitation and child support and filed the papers through the court, but have not yet gone to court. child support is now trying to get him to pay through them, and told him today that they will start garnishing his wages, when we already have this agreement with the mother and have already been paying her along with paying for insurance for this boy....how can child support do that when they are the ones that had lost this case for 7 years, my husband had no idea that this child was his... not only that he has been in contact on a regular basis with this same child support office , because he has another case with his daughter, which we have custody of her, so what can we do for this to stop, ? please help

Re: Child Support Issues
I am sorry, but I really do not understand. In the very first line of the question you posted you tell us that your husband hired an attorney. You go on to say that an agreement was reached, papers were filed and that you haven't actually gone to court yet. This definitely leaves the impression that you husband is at this time represented by legal counsel. If this is true, your husband should obtain legal advice from his attorney. If this is not true, I would suggest reposting and making a clearer statement of the facts.
