Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I have two children both with my last name (Davis) which is my maiden name. I plan to marry and would like to change their last name to the name of my husband. Neither father has regular contact or pays child support. One father has taken a blood test and is the legally established father however there are not support orders or no verbal agreements for support. My partner has financially provided for the children for the last 3 years and covers them with health care and other expenses. What do I need to do in order to change their last name when I marry?

Your husband can move to adopt the children. That will require notice to or permission from the fathers. You could also make a request to change the children's names when you change yours.

Good luck
