Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I have been contacted by a previous woman I was involved with over 4 years ago and her lawyer. I was informed that her husband is wanting to adopt her 4 year old child and legally my consent. I have never been legally informed of being the father of her child and I'm curious if they would need my consent?

If they were married when the child was born, the law presumes her husband is the father. If not, then the biological father would have to consent or his parentaly rights be termainted by the state, in order for another man (ex's husband) to adopt the child. Since you just found out you are a Dad (or not) there is nothing that says you have to consent to the adoption.
