Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

If a couple with no marital property or children divorce in Missouri, and husband pays the wife a mutually agreed settlement cash, to avoid long court.... can the husband write-off this payment in his taxes?

Not unless it is "MAINTENANCE" in the judgment which makes it taxable income to her.
