Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
i went to court about 3 years ago because i was wishing to relocate and in order to move had to give up half of my custody rights.i now have joint legal/joint physical custody of our now 4 year old. i have been discussing over the last couple of years about enrolling him into preschool and the time is drawing closer and am now being met with the if you really want to enroll him that bad you will let us enroll him here and then when he starts kindergarden he can start where we live which is over 3 hours away difference in time.they say their reasoning for this is because they dont want to lose time with him.I would not have an issue if he had already been in school and wasnt getting the kind of attension he deserves or needs but he has never been in a classroom setting.I have already had him tested by the school district where i live and the results came back showing a potential delay and his dad due to whatever reason chose to have him tested at the school in their district but their results say there is no delay whatsoever.i am really concerned as to what steps to take now seeing as i can enroll him this fall anyways but i dont want to lose my son completely.our custody papers cover when he hits school age but preschool is not directly mentioned.his stepmother who is always the one i discuss this all with due to the fact of her husband doesnt want to deal with me stated that when he leaves it is hard on her family and i have explained that my family doesnt like it either. When our son gets into school they will get the yearly list of holidays, every spring break, and then he will spend 4 consecutive weeks in the summer followed by one week with me and then another 4 weeks of not seeing me at all.i need help because i really truly do want to get along with his dad but i am constantly told no and for no apparent reason.an example would be when we moved i asked to have him seen by an alergy doctor closer to our home because his is 3 1/2 hours away and was told no and that if i took him anyway he wouldnt help pay for it and he would be in touch with his lawyer. i just need to know how much rights i really have to enroll him in preschool when i have made him aware and right now it seems to be pure selfishness on why he wont let me enroll him. please help!

Why not enroll him in preschool in your area, for when he is with you, and allow his father choose to enroll him in preschool in their district
Good luck
