Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
I'm curious to know if anyone has heard of legal requirements to force you to provide medical insurance benefits for your spouse pre-divorce? I've been seperated for approximately 2 years, and my soon to be ex-wife is now claiming I am legally required to provide her insurance coverage until the divorce is final. Please advise!

If your wife is on your insurance coverage, then she is correct and there is a statute which specifically prevents you from removing her. If you are going into a Dissolution of Marriage then you need an attorney. If you already have an attorney, then ask him or her about this issue. If you do not have an attorney you may contact me for a consultation. I have handled hundreds of divorces in the thirty-two years I have been practicing law.
