Re: custody
In Missouri we have a "Relocation Statute", which requires a custodial parent to send the non-custodial parent a letter including various information concerning a proposed relocation of the child. The non-custodial parent then has a limited period of time within which to file a Motion in Court to oppose the proposed relocation. Usually an agreement can be arranged under which the custodial parent can relocate but the non-custodial parent gets increased or modified rights of visitation and temporary physical custody. In cases where no agreement can be reached, the matter can be tried and the Judge will decide.
