Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
My daughters father wants to sue me and have the courts change her last name to his eventhough we were never married and she is already 7 and a half old. He feels he is entitled to that since he pays child support. Can he be granted that by a judge? And how old does she have to be for her to say she doesnt want to go to his house for his scheduled weekends?

Generally, your daughter must be qat least thriteen to refuse to go for her visits. If she tries before then, the other parent may use that against you. It is called parental alienation, and it should be taken seriously.
As for the name change, there is no hard and fast rule. But the parent wanting to change the name has the burden of proving the need for the change. There is no automatic rule that the child bear the father's surrname where the parents are unmarried.
