Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

deadline for modifications in custody cases

My husband filed for full custody of his son 5 months ago (Nov). She filed a motion to dismiss. Both lawyers went to court in Feb and her motion was denied. She was given 20 days to file any other motions. She missed that deadline. Our lawyer said that nothing can be done until we hear from her lawyer. He wrote him a letter 2 weeks ago asking him to let us know their intentions. It has now been over 1 month from that deadline and we haven't heard anything. Isn't there any deadline for that and isn't there anything we can do?

Re: deadline for modifications in custody cases

Your husband is represented by legal counsel. If you or your husband has a question you should address it to the attorney handling the case. If your husband is not satisfied with the services of his attorney, he can discharge that attorney and seek representation elsewhere. I do not believe that it is a proper use of this forum to obtain second opinions from attorneys who have no knowledge of the case which is already being handled by legal counsel. In any event by so using this forum you run the risk of receiving a response from someone who is not fully informed regarding your particular situation as is your husband's attorney.
