Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
What is a dismissal hearing un a dissolutionment case
2 Answers from Attorneys
Sometimes, when a case sits dormant for a while, the court will send out a notice to teh parties (particularly the plaintinff ro Petitioner) that basically says "Hey, do someothing with this case or we are going to Dismiss it) as courts try to reduce th enumber of active cases they carry. When this happens, the Court (or the respondnet) schedules a hearing, for anyone with an interest to come and show why the case should not be Dismissed. This could be what happened with your case. It could also be that one side has asked that all or part of the other side's case be Dismissed, and the hearing is a time for others to come and show why it should not be dismissed.
Good luck
The previous response was correct. But, perhaps more importantly, if this case involves you, and you want to obtain a dissolution of marriage, you should hire an attorney. Good luck!
