Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

divorce

I just recently moved to Texas in search of work and to get away from the situation with my husband.Divorce papers had been served before I left and the attorney was not available until the 26th of April to sign papers. My question is; can the divorce papers be faxed from Missouri to Texas and I can sign them that way instead of having to make an 8 hour trip back?

Re: divorce

You really need to ask a Missouri attorney, but at least in Texas, there is no reason the papers couldn't be faxed or mailed to you for signature and then mailed back to his attorney.

You may want to have an attorney review the decree and any other orders before you sign them.

Re: divorce

Yes. But, if you have an attorney why don't you direct your questions to your attorney?
