Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri
Divorce and visitation
My wife filed for divorce and I got papers before the fourth, but I don't have the money to get an divorce lawyer. I've been working for homeland for about 1 month at the most. My wife lives in Missouri, I live in Oklahoma. I can't even get off, otherwise I will lose my job. My wife states that I make $1600 a month. We have children. I've not worked for my other job since 1/02. She is trying to get me to pay $500.00 child support, plus supervised visitation for 8 hrs once a month. My children live 12 to 14 hrs away. I don't know what to do, please help.

Re: Divorce and visitation
There is absolutely no doubt that you need an attorney to represent you in the divorce proceedings in Missouri. If I were you I would take out a loan, get an advance on credit cards, sell my car, or do whatever I need to do in order to afford legal counsel. If you don't, you will be paying for it financially and in other ways for a long time.

Thank you for your question. I suggest that you contact legal aid if you cannot afford to hire an attorney. You certainly need legal representation.
