Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Divorce w/ Children--regarding a Response

How long does someone have to file a response after they have been served? What happens if they excede that timeframe? If it goes to Default Judgement, does that mean that whatever was served is the default? If so, how long does someone have to challenge that default judgement?

There is not enough space to answer all of your questions. Generally a defendnat has thirty days or less to fiel an Answer to a Petition of Complaint. If they do not anwer and or failt o appear at Court, the court may grant a default judgment for teh amount or relief plead.

Generally one has thirty days or less to request that a Judge reconsider and set aside a default judgment. In some cases it can be longer.

There are several grounds by whish one may get a judgmetn set aside or modified. You have not provided enough information to narrow the list down enough.

Good Luck
