Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I am a divorced woman. My ex is responsible to pay $3000 of my attorney fees by divorce decree. However my attorney is now billing me for these fees because my ex is unemployed and is drawing unemployment benefits. Am I now responsible to pay those attorney fees?

I'll bet that you had a fee agreement to pay your attorney for providing legal services to you. That agreement is between you and your attorney. So, yes, you owe your attorney the fees he or she earned. If the attorney is able to collect court awarded fees from your ex which exeed the amount of fees earned, then the attorney can refund to you any money he or she collects over and above the amount of fees earned.
